Borat

Jewish comedian Sacha Cohen, aka Borat, has a new movie out. The parts that have attracted most attention in the US are his (successful) attempts to entice Americans to say appalling things about Jews. The two worst ones – a bar scene and a hunting ranch scene – are on You Tube. Slate has more sobre commentary from Dana Stevens and Ron Rosenbaum.

    I think those clips are actually from the HBO TV series, not the movie. That’s significant if you want to make something of Ron Rosenbaum’s commentary.

    I haven’t seen the clips you’ve linked to, but if the bar scene includes his “Throw the Jews down the well” singalong, then it’s from the TV series.
