"Bright sparks in the gloom"

The SMH have finally reviewed Imagining Australia. Here’s part of what Michelle Arrow had to say:

Reading Imagining Australia left me both inspired and depressed. Inspired, because many of the ideas in this book are innovative and deserve a run; depressed, because I suspect many of them will never be seen outside its pages….Duncan, Leigh, Madden and Tynan have thrown down the gauntlet. It is now up to our politicians, academics and policy boffins to take up the challenge. Imagining Australia’s release in an election year is timely: I’d like to think Mark Latham and John Howard are devouring it in search of some much-needed inspiration.

(Well one can only hope! 😉 To read the full review click here. To read some other reviews of IA click here.

    Hi Dave,

I heard three of you interviewed on Radio National a month or two back. Not bad but I think its a little unworkable having three interviewed simutaneously. It comes over as a little confusing when you can’t work out who’s going to answer and a little too choreographed when you take it in turns. I suggest just one do the interviews in future.

PS. If you’re ever in Melb, lets catch up for a beer.

On the basis of a preliminary skim through your site, I congratulate you on some stimulating ideas and a job well done.
