If you liked "Mates", you'll like….

For anyone interested in the history of the Wran government, my friend Troy Bramston is running a public forum, flowing out of his recent edited book. It’ll be held in Gymea on August 6. Details over the fold.

Revisiting the Wran Era: A Public Forum

You are invited to a forum revisiting the NSW Wran Labor Government, 1976 to 1986, and discussing the lessons for Labor today.

In 1976, Neville Wran led NSW Labor to victory.  It heralded the beginning
of one of the most successful governments in history.  A dynamic and popular
leader, landslide election wins and a bold reform program were just some of
the highlights.

Come and hear the inside stories and what it means for Labor today.

Special Guest Speakers:

Terry Sheahan
Minister in the Wran Government, Former President of the NSW ALP

Graham Freudenberg
Speechwriter to Neville Wran, Bob Hawke, Gough Whitlam, Bob Carr, Arthur Calwell

Brian Dale
Former Press Secretary to Neville Wran, Author – Ascent to Power: Wran and
the Media
