Reefer Writing

A particularly persistent urban myth is that the Great Wall of China can be seen by the naked eye from space (Wikipedia has details). I mentioned last year the fact that the Chinese are quite happy to propagate this myth. But it was more of a surprise when we visited the National Zoo and Aquarium yesterday to read on a sign:

Along with the Great Wall of China, Australia’s Barrier Reef can be seen from space.

On our way out, I left a note in their suggestion box, proposing that the zoo immediately set about acquiring a pair of Jackalopes. It seems like it’d be the perfect place for them.
