Seen in New Orleans: several economists walking down Bourbon Street, still wearing their AEA nametags around their necks as they innocently weave their way between the packs of drunk football fans, the men and women with strings of beads around their necks, and the funky jazz bands on the corner. Ah, we’re a classy profession…

    Did they also wear their conference bags? It sounds like quite a few math conferences I went to.

  2. Lets be honest though, even when they took them off, they were quite easy to pick out. If you weren’t wearing red or purple, and you were looking around in amazement…you were an economist.

    ps nice write up on Levitt’s paper…by far the most interesting thing I saw at the meetings.
